Egg Roll in a Bowl

Egg Roll in a Bowl, people. One dish wonder that never ceases to disappoint. It’s cheap. It’s easy. It is IMPOSSIBLE to fuck up. Also, paleo.

This serves four normal people. Maybe two if you’re hungry AF.

Ingredients:

  • 1Lb ground chicken or turkey breast
  • 1 package shredded tri-color coleslaw
  • 1/4-1/2 medium sweet yellow onion, chopped
  • 2-3 eggs
  • 1 stalk scallions
  • 1/3 cup Bragg’s liquid amino acids
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 TBSP sesame oil
  • 2 tsp ginger

Directions:

  • Combine amino acids, minced, sesame oil, and ginger. Wisk well and set aside
  • Brown the protein until partially cooked
  • Stir in onions and cook until translucent
  • When the meat is nearly cooked through, add the package of shredded ‘slaw, stir until wilted
  • Add liquid amino mixture
  • Crack eggs directly into the pan and stir continuously until eggs are cooked. STIR so you don’t let the eggs scramble
  • Garnish with a handful of scallions. NEVER skip the garnish

*If you read this post then you already know this is the BEST soy sauce alternative.

What did I tell you?! It’s SO easy.

  1. Really liked this recipe, but I think the liquid amino measurement was off…1/2 cup seems like a bit much. And comparing my result to your pictures, mine was very brown vs your green/fresh look. Can you verify measurements?

    1. Fahk. Kurt. You’re right. I use 1/3 cup (probably a little less). That was an error on my part. THANK YOU for the callout, I just updated the recipe. My hero!!

  2. This was delicious. Made it last night. Husband legit ate all but a tiny bowl he left for me. COOL. Will be adding this to my weekly rotation.

  3. Hi Kate!! I’m so excited to make this recipe tonight. Because I’m making this just for myself, I wondered if you ever reheat this dish?

  4. Made this tonight—although my dish doesn’t look as pretty as it does in your picture.. it came out super delicious! And it was sooo easy to make—and that’s coming from someone who is pretty non handy in the kitchen.. thanks so much!

  5. I had some broccoli slaw that was on the cusp of spoiling so decided to whip this together for the first time. OMG so fahking good! I don’t know why I waited so long to give it a try.

  6. Wow I just tasted it. It’s so easy, fresh, and healthy!!! I’m going to turn these into lettuce wraps. Thanks for the recipe!

  7. Made this last night, always a favorite go to! I used ground beef because that is all I had. I can’t tell a difference between aminos and soy sauce either!
