Healthy Pre-Packaged Foods
I love to cook. I like to plan my meals. I don’t even mind grocery shopping. But even the most enthusiastic and organized meal prepper needs a hand from center aisles of the store now and then. Below are my go-to brands when I’m not fully invested in the kitchen. The best part – each product is V versatile and can carry you from morning until night if need be.
Van’s Waffles
Breakfast: Top with grass-fed butter and a few slices of fruit
Lunch: Mashed avocado with a few slices of deli turkey
Dinner: Hello! Rotisserie chicken and waffles
Dessert: Top with a scoop of Halo Top and a smidge of heavy whipping cream
Simple Mills
Seriously. These pre-packaged baking mixes are the SHIT. Good luck choosing just one, they’re all delicious, and I’m obsessed.
Breakfast: Pancakes
Lunch: Sea salt crackers with slices of prosciutto, green Italian olives and an ounce of brie cheese
Dinner: Cauliflower crust flatbread with marinara, veggies and grass-fed cheese
Dessert: The cookies are fucking delish
Applegate Chicken Nuggets
Breakfast: Three nuggets with your scrambled eggs
Lunch: Two-ish servings of nuggets with half a sweet potato
Dinner: Two-ish servings of nuggets with half an avocado and kale chips
Lundberg Brown Rice Organic Rice Cakes
Breakfast: Top with one tablespoon of almond butter and berries
Lunch: Mashed avocado and slices of hard-boiled eggs
Jennie-O Turkey Meatballs
Breakfast: A savory breakfast with sauteed green peppers
Lunch: A topper for zoodles, cold or hot!
Dinner: Serve with green beans and a tablespoon of burrata. YUM.
Manna Organics Coconut Cashew Butter
Do you really need suggestions for this? EAT IT WITH A SPOON, bishes. Okay fine. See below.
Breakfast: A serving size dollop in steel cut oats
Lunch: Berries, Greek yogurt, and a liberal dollop
Dessert: Chocolate Halo Top with a generous scoop
There is a full line of products – my two favorites are the coconut cashew and cacao! Duh.
Siete Tortillas
Breakfast: The perfect vessel for an egg burrito
Lunch: The perfect vehicle for tuna salad
Dinner: The perfect wrap for grilled chicken strips
Dessert: A perfect makeshift crepe sliced fruit, grass-fed butter and drizzled dark chocolate
Siete also makes tortilla chips that seriously taste like Pringles but are 100% GUILT FAHKIN’ FREE. It’s like you’ve died and gone to heaven. If I make a bag last a weekend I’m ready to give myself a medal of honor.
You can find all of the above at Whole Foods, online or at most grocery stores!
