As detailed in THIS post, I recently started investing in and prioritizing my skincare. It hasn’t happened overnight, and it hasn’t been cheap, but it has been SO (SO) worth it.
As a fitness professional, I’m in a gym 6 days out of the week. As a mom, I have next to no time to think about myself in the morning when getting myself and my son out the door. Like, sometimes I’m on the train on my way to the studio and I’m like, “UM I DON’T THINK I EVEN LOOKED IN THE MIRROR THIS MORNING, I HOPE I DON’T HAVE SHIT ON MY FACE.” God, I must be a real treat.
My skincare treatment routine and regimen has transformed the appearance of my skin and, honestly, has increased my confidence to wear a bare face on the regular.
My girl, Tara, has worked with me a really fahkin’ long time to customize my arsenal based on my goals…and my phase of life. We’ve done different products and regimens across pre-pregnancy, while pregnant, postpartum while breastfeeding, and as I was weening. Holy shit – my hormones went absolutely haywire. There was an Andes Mountain situation on my jawline and it was NOT okay.
Now, I can add another bish to my list. Suzie is an absolute GODDESS with injectables and is the BEST for Botox, Dysport, and the like.
I am a FIRM believer in outsourcing what YOU are not an expert in, or what you cannot do as well as someone else. I had NO idea what to do with my skin, so I found someone who was an expert to tell me what to do. It just so happened that she’s a close friend too.
Like fitness, skincare is UNIQUE to you. If you go out and buy these products or find someone to do these treatments it’s not a given you’ll see the same results that I see after MONTHS and YEARS of application. BUT, I’m happy to share my approach! This question slides into my DM’s frequently enough that I thought I would consolidate my response.

Per Tara, this is the correct order of usage and application!

I really struggled writing this post because I am NOT a beauty “influencer” (gag), expert, or even an enthusiast. So, like, who am I to talk about this shit? It actually kind of stresses me out because I feel like you could endlessly invest in products and STILL not achieve what you want. I used to have a drawer full of make-up that I never wore. Now I just stick to these basics.
Not pictured the best eyelash curler ever, as recommended by one of my FAV make-up artists!!
Again, the main takeaway from this article is NOT what I do, or the exact products I use. The main takeaway is to work with an expert to formulate your product plan and routine. The difference I saw after I ditched my over the counter or generic products and opted for products that were actively designed for my problems or goals was SIGNIFICANT!
After implementing the above, I spend less time thinking about what I look like, and more time on the things that really matter. Imma nobody, so if I can do it, you can do it! Go forth, and spend your time and energy doing something else!
