Okay so you could hop on the bike – but the point of NEAT is to be more active throughout the day which is incidental movement so getting up every hour and walking around your neighborhood or house, taking the stairs, walking instead of driving, chores, etc. There is nothing magical about the 10k step goal. 6k, 8k are also great milestones. I would start a little smaller and try to achieve movement during the day instead of catching up during the evening.
