Hi Kate! Great lecture last night. I truly admire your commitment to this community, especially these last couple months w Demi. I can’t imagine having to show up and lecture w the lack of sleep I’ve had w my babies lol you are amazing!!
I asked a question at the end but I don’t think I gave enough detail. I have 4x/week to train. I have a baby at home with me. He is 9 months now so his schedule is a little more predictable and I can get in my anaerobic training 99% of the time during his nap. Later in the day, I’ll go for a 5-6km walk with him. What I meant to ask last night was, is this frequency of aerobic training 4x/week on top of the four strength training sessions going to hinder any gains? My goal is hypertrophy. Thanks Kate!

Hi! GREAT question. Unless there is an indirect interference at play, no! Walking does not cannibalize hypertrophic gains. It’s a great way to get your movement up, bond with your baby, get your NEAT in, and get some fresh air.

Let’s say, for example, the walking was causing pelvic discomfort and tightness and that was impacting your mood, sleep, ability to lift, pelvic health, etc, that would be another story. BUT if there aren’t any red flags in your approach or discomfort you’re golden. Get it ma!!
