You know how the saying goes, if it seems too good to be true, it probably is. And that is the case with the majority of fat burners on the market today. Like pre-workout, they are nothing more than expensive caffeine.

Most fat burners claim to increase fat loss by increasing your energy expenditure and decreasing hunger and inducing heat for additional caloric burn.

While the ingredients in most fat burners have some sort of research behind them, there is very little (if any) data that supports the efficacy of fat loss in humans.

Ingredients that have support behind them for fat loss include caffeine, green tea, and capsimax. If you were to opt for a fat burner, those are the key ingredients to look for.

A supplement is just that – it’s not a magic pill or secret sauce. Caloric deficit and training make up the majority of your progress and can’t be diminished.
