Summer ’17 Gym Bag Essentials

The Miracle Morning: You really can’t exercise your bod without keeping your mind sharp. I always try to have a book or two on my nightstand for sleepless nights (there are many), or in my bag, so I’m not shamelessly scrolling through my commutes (there are many). Self Help is a frequented genre; it keeps me positive, adds to my confidence and helps me develop my “themes” in class. Haven’t taken my Barry’s class yet? Les Specs Matte Aviators: My husband claims that these sunglasses, “aren’t cool.” He’s so lost. They are, in fact, so cool.

Too Faced Mascara: My lashes are my pride and joy. I usually get my mascara at Walgreens, but every once and a while I like to treat myself. This Too Faced goodie is pretty much true to its name: better than sex. Hash tag, oh la la.

Elta MD Sunscreen: I’ve said it before, and I’ll repeat it, it’s the best. AND it’s tinted. I think it gives it a little something extra, don’t you think?

Spiritual Gangster Trucker Hat: Another purchase that causes my husband to roll his eyes. I wash my hair twice a week (if that), so a hat is crucial for days 4, 5, and 6.

Smith’s Strawberry Lip Balm: Obsessed. Not exactly thrilled that you have to dip your finger into the pot for application, but it smells and tastes great, plus adds a real nice shine. Without looking like you’re trying too hard.

Bare Minerals Invisible Glow Highlighter: Obsessed. I layer this on top of the Elta MD sunscreen above after class, or before I teach for a little something.

Nike Fresh Cooling Bra: Nike Women bras are the best. Period. Full transparency, I co-chair the Itty Bitty Titty Committee and don’t have a lot to contain.

Beats Solo³Wireless: These headphones are RIGHT. I received them c/o Beats by Dre, and honestly, don’t know what I did before them. They’re noise cancelling and perfect for flights, meditation and even working out.

Barry’s Bootcamp Clean Slate Collection: Barry’s latest retail collection and it. is. HOT. Buy in-studio or online, and get it all before it’s gone.

Nike Vapor Air Max Flyknit: These are technically a running shoe, but my grandma-self needs a more stable running shoe. I wear these to train clients and walk around the city. People have stopped me on the street to ask me about them; they’re that good.

Oribe Dry Shampoo: I know, it’s a tad pricey for a hair product. But it’s seriously worth it. And smell DELISH.

Hot Tools Curling Wand: Gets super hot and creates the perfect messy wave. Even a fool couldn’t mess up the post-beach look.

Korres Body Wash and Lotion: My skin gets super dry in the summer, I love this duo to lock in moisture and provide a light fragrance when I don’t want to wear perfume.

Nut Butter Nation: The kind bishes at Nut Butter Nation sent me some to-go packets, and I’ve become addicted. I stash them in my gym bag and will eat on its own (do NOT judge me), put on top of mixed berries, or mix with Greek yogurt.
