If your weekend was anything like mine there were holiday parties and carbs a plenty! I woke up this morning eager to hit the gym hard and work up a fierce sweat. There are EIGHT, count’ em, EIGHT days left in 2013. That leaves us with eight days to end 2013 on the best, fittest and strongest foot. Stay focused, stay motivated, and don’t let your goals fall out of sight as the holidays fall upon us. Do this work out before your pack your suitcase or load up your car and hit the road! Your future self will thank you!
I love myself a pyramid, not only are they super challenging, but the repetition allows for the opportunity to perfect drills, or challenge yourself with different variations. I never hate a little repetition!
Do the below in rounds of 40/30/20/10 reps each, decreasing each set. In between give yourself no more than 60 seconds of recovery!
- High Knees (each leg)
- Squat (You can spice up with some variety: wide leg, sumo, bulgarian, etc!)
- Crunches with Alternating Kick Downs (each leg) (Switch it up with crunch circuits, v-ups or suitcases!)
- Push-ups (Remember these bad boys?! Do ‘em all!)
- Side Plank with rotation (each side) (For a few other options either hold a side plank and dip your hips, or side plank with an oblique crunch!)
